Long time no update, actually some things happened lately and not too much time was left for playing around with Choepie. My plan to go to Belgium to give a Toi (kind of training) to my Belgian and Luxemburg colleagues, continuing to Munich to follow a training myself and continuing to Prague to work with my Greek friend Ioannis, that plan was completely messed up when the people in Munich cancelled the training. So I had to take care of cancelling all my hotels and flights etc. and swap them over to just stay 1 week in Belgium. Not having a returnflight from Belgium, left open the opportunity to go to Barcelona from Brussels and spend some time with Ana there. At least I returned from Belgium with a brand new, very cool MacBook Pro, and an almost completion of Bob Dylan Cd’s collection. Both my father and Ana came up with the same idea of completing my Dylan collection and now I only miss 3 Cd’s and I do have 7 doubles, ending up with a total of 54 cd’s of this old man. Some things go crazy. I really have to put the handbreak on obtaining some new music, I received a package out of the UK with another 10 vinyls (minimal electro, electro-house) and I do need some time on knowing my records as well.

No Audiogear entered my house lately but all is in backorder… a very cool midicontroller to handle ableton live, a i/o module to counter sound latency on default soundcards etc. I earn money to spend it, life doesn’t need to be complex.

Even more then ever, I’m crazy about music. My friends know that I have a reasonable collection of vinyl/Minidisks/CD/mp3, but with a new Mac Probook waiting for me to pickup, things are getting worse. I’ll go to Belgium soon and need to go to Piens to check out the prices for a M-Audio Firewire 410. A reasonable priced external good-quality IO module for audio and that will be my next project.

So next week I’m off to Belgium and while my training in Munich is cancelled I’m not sure if I can reschedule my Prague visit or not. If not, I’ll fly back to Barcelona instead of Madrid.

Other good news is that my parents are doing great, on their trip to the North of Spain. They left madrid on tuesday by train to visit Leon, I managed a rental car over there so they could make a loop through Oviedo, Santander and Brugos, dropping of the car there and returning by train to Madrid on Saturday. Sunday we’ll go to Segovia and monday they fly back. Friday I fly to Belgium then.

So back to the music part. As it is my birthday very soon, I asked juno records how they managed to work with ‘Gift Certificates’ in order to allow people to sponser my vinyl, but it doesn’t work yet. At this very moment I’m awaiting a shipment of about 10 records from the UK… electronic house it’s called now, whatever, I don’t like those stylesheets in music anyway… I classify music into Bad, Good and  Great, and even that varies on time/situation/mood base.

First of all  my apologies for those reading my blog in IE. I have not tested it yet but Ana told me the layout is horrible when using Internet Explorer.  I’m tried with Mozilla/ Firefox and it looks ok. If I only found some time to get myself on my PC to fix it… in meantime, you might download firefox and be pleased by the use. -)

Firday Ana came over from Barcelona. And we had immediately a good night out in 2D. Unfortunately her friends were all over except in Madrid, so not too much people showed up, but it was a great night whatsoever. Saturday was spend running from one place to another but we ended up at Stefane’s place. He finally managed to get a party for his birthday and the housewarming. I brought about 100 records over and it really looked like overkill because he asked me to play only an hour from 12 to 1 and then Lutz would take over. I played from 11h30 untill almost 2 o’clock and then I really ended up without records… but it was a great set and a lot of people came over to tell me they enjoyed the music. It really felt good because I’m not very used to play for a group like that, people  I hardly know. Again I should take action on that and get myself into some club to play once in a while. I do enjoy it.

Yesterday I dropped of Ana at the trainstation. She’s back in Barcelona now and we won’t see each other for about 4 weeks. It’s a pretty long time and I was in quite a mood when I went over to Stefane’s place to pick up my flightcase. I will be very busy the next days (my parents are coming over) but there will come more then enough moments when I will suffer the fact that I’m here and Ana’s there.
